The Kansas Head Start Association is pleased to announce that Kansas Governor Laura Kelly signed a proclamation declaring October Head Start Awareness Month on September 25, 2024. We want to thank Governor Kelly for her support of Head Start children and families in Kansas.
Attending the signing ceremony at the Kansas State Capitol were: Heather Schrotberger, Kansas Head Start Association; Gabrielle Tanner and Haley Mortensen, Sheldon Child Development Center Head Start; Lisa London and Jennifer Frank-Dull, Project Eagle; and Vicky Flucke and Kesha Estelle, Growing Futures Early Education Center.
Throughout October, Head Start programs, advocates, and alumni in Kansas and across the country will be participating in activities to raise awareness of Head Start’s impact.
