MIND in the Making Institute

Even as technology causes the world around us constantly to change, the social and emotional needs of children have not. Ellen Galinsky’s research has identified Seven Essential Skills that are essential for children in the short- and long-term.

  • Focus and Self Control

  • Perspective Taking

  • Communicating

  • Making Connections

  • Critical Thinking

  • Taking on Challenges

  • Self-directed, Engaged Learning

During the 2 ½ day Mind in the Making Institute, you will be on a learning journey where you will reflect on your own experiences and practices, learn what researchers have discovered about how children learn best, and discuss how to apply this research in your role as a parent or educator. Once the Institute is complete, the participants will be able to conduct MITM trainings for other practitioners in the early childhood field.
